 Jason H. King, Ph.D., NCC, CCMHC, LCMHC-S, ACS is the principal founder and co-partner of the MELLIVORA GROUP. He is a nationally recognized dynamic trainer and established clinician, supervisor, educator, consultant, and qualitative researcher.  He is the Student Development Coordinator for Walden University’s CACREP-accredited master’s and doctoral School of Counseling programs.

Dr. King is a state licensed and nationally certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor. He is also a National Certified Counselor, an Approved Clinical Supervisor, a certified Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapist, a certified Functional Family Therapist, and a Certified Advanced Facilitator.

Dr. King co-owned and clinically directed an outpatient mental health and substance abuse treatment clinic that collected data for the American Psychiatric Association’s Routine Clinical Practice field trials that informed the DSM-5 revision process. Because of this role, page 914 of the DSM-5 lists him as a Collaborating Investigator. He served as a DSM-5 Revision Task Force committee member for the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) and the American Counseling Association (ACA) and has given over 200 national and international trainings on the DSM-5 since its publication in May 2013.

Dr. King served as a Behavioral Health Clinical Panel Member for Stanford University's Health Policy Center for Primary Care and Outcomes Research. In this role, he assisted in the investigation of community-level quality indicators related to suicidal ideation, serious mental illness, substance use, depression, anxiety, adjustment, and psychotic disorders; and intimate partner violence and abuse. He received the 2012 AMHCA Mental Health Counselor of the Year Award, and for six years he served as the Governor appointed Chair of the Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CMHC) licensure board for the Utah Department of Occupational and Professional Licensing (DOPL).
